FIRM HISTORY

• Established 1972 in Ste. Genevieve by Richard Bacon as Ste. Genevieve Design and Building Corporation;
• Shifted focus in mid-70's to architectural design only, particularly for commercial clients;
• Steven Bacon joined firm in 1984;
• Proposed adding to Busch Memorial Stadium instead of building a new facility as St. Louis Football Cardinals were insisting;
• Changed name in mid-80's to Bacon Commercial Design Company;
• Moved Offices to south St. Louis, Missouri 1993;
• Established new company form, Bacon Commercial Design LLC, and opened main office in Crystal City, Missouri; January 1, 2001;
• Richard and Steven have both been with BCD continuously since joining the company.

Steven or Richard will always closely manage each building construction project. Prospects are not hounded by 'Sales Engineers'; Clients are not handed off to 'Project Architects'; Projects are not passed on to the 'drafting department'. Hands-on management means your questions get answered quickly, accurately, and in plain language. Bacon Commercial Design employs from one to several drafting staffers at any one time, but their work is closely directed by the Owners.

TECHNOLOGY--Computers, plotters, e-mail, scanning, 3d-modelling--each facet of our computerization is leveraged to provide fast, responsive and detailed work on every project. A project needn't be a multi-million dollar collection of sweeping stainless and corten steel curves to justify Computer Aided Design & Drafting--CADD speeds up and increases the accuracy of straight lines, too.

• Virtually all design and drafting done using several CADD, modeling and rendering programs;
• Most correspondence can be delivered electronically, including proposals, sketches, full plans, 3-D models, construction field reports;
• CADD files are fully exchangeable with all popular programs and formats for drafting, surveying and engineering.

PHILOSOPHY--Our approach to Architecture focuses on satisfying our clients by thoroughly investigating the options, reviewing them in detail, and developing a plan based on business decisions--with a basis of as much objective information as each situation will allow.

No style of design is right for every client. How the building WORKS is paramount. The proper image and materials will then add to the functionality of the project.

We also respect the expert knowledge each of our clients has in his or her field. We build on that knowledge, and create a safe environment for the decision-making all project leaders must embrace.
